Dancing Towards an Incredible Lightness of Being...

My dear readers today I am indulging myself a bit, and I trust that you will not mind.  My love for the intensely beautiful creations of Mami Jewell continues unabated, and I am going to write about her stunning Alicia gown for this post.

But there is a story behind this choice, and I would like to tell that as well.  I have a friend. She loves to dance and thrives on live music.  Veronica is a member of the Dazzlers dance company, and one of the things she loves to do is to choreograph dances to music she feels touches her heart.  My favorite quote of hers regarding dance choreography is "I have to love a song enough to want to listen to it 500 times".  That says it all for me.  Recently, she choreographed a ballet to some music that holds deep personal meaning for her.  She and the Dazzlers performed this dance, and it brought tears to the eyes of many onlookers as they felt the intensity of the dance, even without knowing the back story.

Veronica and I have another girlfriend who loves to dance as well, and here, my dear patient readers, is where Mami's stunning Alicia gown comes into play.  You see, this dance is like therapy, a cleansing if you will.  So while Veronica and the Dazzlers have performed it a number of times, so have just her and I in the warm blanket of her dance studio.  Anyway, our mutual friend, who is also a Dazzler, asked if she could dance with us some time, and it was in getting ready for this event that the beautiful Alicia gown came into play. Each of us chose a color - all different - and we will dance this ballet together to celebrate the cleansing it brings to our beloved friend.  And all our hearts will be lighter afterwards...
So here is the Alicia gown in all its satiny glory.  The workmanship, as with every creation out of Azul, is incredible.  It is as if Mami sews these bits together on a little digital sewing machine and delivers amazing haute couture to the lovers of fashion in Second Life.

If your heart aches, or you just want to feel good, get this gown.  Make your own ballet to a song that has special meaning to you.  Dance your creation with some close friends.  And may your hearts be light once more...

Angel or Demon?

This weekend I was invited to attend a Phantom of the Opera themed ball with the Social Club. As it was a formal event,I went to my source of inspiration for all things formal - Azul.  Mami has so many stunning choices but my Google search narrowed the field to a lacy, white, and flowing dress. I quickly located Rachel and was thrilled to find it matched my requirements precisely.
As you can see, he overall look is one of restrained elegance - there are no flashing extras to be found here, nor are they needed.  I love the romantic feel of this gown - it feels like... Love.  I completed the look with some Lazuri jewels and some slingbacks from Gos and had a great time dancing.
As I have mentioned in previous columns, I just adore the detailing of Mami's Creations - Rachel upholds that fine tradition - the lace work alone is exceptional.  This gown was a real crowd pleaser.  Run, do not walk, to get yours today...

And yes, I did feel Angelic in this lovely creation...

Posing Sinfully...

I love the days Mami releases new gowns for Azul.  Today Malika showed up and all I could say was WOW!  I love this gown so much, it is both an incredibly detailed and luscious example of the art of Second Life.  As usual the array of colors for this gown are just stunning.  I chose the turquoise version of Malika and found it such a joy to wear and shoot in the studio.

the rich color captures the eye immediateely, but it is the attention to detail Mami puts into each of her creations that focuses the eye.  As I have said in previous posts, I always feel so elegant wearing an Azul creation.  Malika is no exception.
The gown's fit is suburb, and I needed no edits to achieve this look.  Coupled with Lazuri jewels and Truth hair I felt ready to dance!

This gown is sure to be a hit at any function you wear it for.  Run, do not walk, to get yours today...

She Screams So Sweetly...

OK, that's an awful lot of "S" words there but after seeing the topic of today's blog you'll understand why they are so very necessary...  Well I HOPE you do at least...

Mami Jewell is a fashion icon in Second Life.  Her contributions as the creator and owner of Azul are legendary, as are many of the gowns she has created over the years.  Many models got launched into fame wearing an Azul gown.

So how come all the screaming?  Well, it's Halloween and Mami has created a very beautiful yet scary outfit for the season.  The key is that it is a LIMITED outfit.  So, since you already know you want this dress better get ready for the rush.
Before I start, let me just say the craws, jewels and teeth are mine :)  Well, a girl has to have *some* toys!   This outfit is called Malika and it is a stunning black brocade bustier top coupled with a lush feathered skirt.  The black lace fingerless gloves complete this jewel of an outfit.  Oh, I forgot the skulls.  Yes, you can really tell it's Halloween because of the many skulls.  The overall effect is one of elegant terror.
As I said, I added the claws and teeth and jewels as well as some sufficiently scary looking shoes to make an outfit that really hit the mark.  Suffice to say, you will love how this turns out.

Encased in Silk...

Wearing one of Mami Jewell's creations feels like being in a dream.  One is transported to a time and place of serenity and beauty.  Mami's latest creation is Francesca, and this gown is a feast of stunning detail and wonderful design that captures both the eye and the heart.

I was thrilled to see this box arrive, as I'd caught a glimpse of it and knew it would be one of my favorites immediately. Mami is doing more with Mesh, and this gown consists of a hybrid of Mesh and Prim working together in an incredible elegant way.
I chose the Sapphire to style as the deep color is just amazing.  It was only after wearing it that I began to appreciate the true artistry here.  The rich brocade of the torso is so beautifully done one could almost reach out and touch it.
As with every creation from this talented woman, the gown's fit and detailing is suburb.  I needed no edits to achevie this look, something that rarely happens.  Coupled with Lazuri jewels and Diva hair I felt so elegant and even a bit decadent.

This gown is sure to be a real crowd pleaser.  Run, do not walk, to get yours today...

With Extra Garlic Please...

Today I received a delightful surprise from my dear friend Mami Jewell.  Her Iolanda gown is a truly wonderful creation and in short order became my favorite gown.  The detailing is just superb, and everything from the textures to the details speaks of the care and quality that goes into each Azul creation.

A word about the title, it's a bit of an inside joke really.  Mami and I share a love for garlic and a dear preggers friend who does not.   We like to tease her just a little bit :)
I chose Iolanda in green as an experiment really.  Looking back I found myself stuck in a rut of black and red, and I just wanted to see what green would look like.  All I can say is... I am really pleased with the results.  To round out this styling I chose my favorite formal jewels - Noor Mystic from Lazuri, and some beautiful N-Core Diva shoes.
The overall result was very nice, and I have a feeling that I will enjoy wearing this gown to many social events in the near future.

Oh, and sorry it's been a while since I've written in my blog.  Life have been challenging and I needed some time to regroup.  I hope to be able to bring your more posts with regularity in the near future...
